We need to develop a site that uses an eCommerce engine as its back bone, but simply produces an email sent to the client for quoting.
We would like to use something like Magento or Interspire as our base. Our thinking is when the client is ready to go to full-fledged eCommerce, they will already have most of the information in place.
Here is what we need:
Backbone/System:
The site will list numerous plastic products the client sells. Many of the product SKUS can be specified to be made in different materials. Whatever backbone we use it must allow us to add different information to each SKU
Quoting Engine:
Users of the site will be able to add quantities of each product to a cart.
When the user is finished 'shopping' they will enter their contact information. The contact information and the contents of the cart will be emailed to the client who will respond with a quote.
Custom Quoting Form:
Users will be able to add information from the catalog (product type), or their own product specs and send it to the client, via email, for quoting. This form must also allow for users to upload drawings/documents with the form
Page Templates:
We have a design approved. We can supply you with working HTML/CSS/JS files for you to implement with whatever backbone/system is chosen. If you can slice the design file and create the HTML, that's cool too.
Sound like something you can help with?
Let us know. The project is finally approved (after much client delays) and we need to get moving!
