I've been working with a designer and programmer on a website for a courier company. The site was complete, finished and tested. We loaded the site along with CMS Made Simple. Second version of website is www.earthscourier.com/index.php/index.html
Since loading the site many of the courier's clients have complained about difficulties using the site. The courier has suffered a 30-40% drop in business in the last two weeks. We have made many changes to solve most issues.
Since then the site has been operating in a very flaky manner. Sometimes working and other times unviewable to users. The programmer modified the style sheets to accommodate more browsers. Lots of hacks for IE 6.0 have also been added. IE 6.0 users have been having an especially hard time. The problem is multi-dimensional. About 20% of users are using IE 6.0 and other outdated browsers. We sense that part of the problem is that the users cache and cookies have not been cleared. Some also may have their java turned off or not updated.
I'm looking for someone that might be able to help troubleshoot the reasons why IE 6.0 and many other browsers are not fully displaying the site properly. We've had about 4 designers troubleshoot the site and none have been able to solve all the problems users are experiencing. Any help advice and tips are appreciated.
