  Hi, my name is Josh Fink and I teach at MYCincinnati, a free, daily youth orchestra program for children. I care deeply about my students and their progress as musicians, and when I ran into one of the big issues in music education, I decided to do something about it.
  
  Outside of our rehearsals, my students want to keep practicing, but they often don't know where to begin or how to practice well. This is even more difficult for students who only see their teachers once a week. Ideally, I could be there to guide and work with each student whenever they pick up their instrument.
  
  In many eastern musical traditions, students will completely immerse themselves in the study of the craft, receiving multiple lessons a day while living with their teacher. The reality is that this method is limited to few students, and the solution is to recreate and improve upon it using technology.
  
  Our goal is to create a powerful web app that will provide inspirational practice guidance to everyone in the world, for free. To realize this dream I have teamed up with designer Ashley Walton. A video of Taste the Guru in action is online at www.tastetheguru.com.
