TeriYeri is a prototype web-app I'm designing to take the fiction-writing industry to the next level. It has a powerful world-building engine with a number of nice features including timelines, auto-generated wiki-pages and interactive maps for builders and a built-in user-friendly story-writing framework to output novels and short-stories for sale as eBooks for authors.
A dynamic events-driven time system allows builders to make time unfold bringing characters and other objects to life. Births, deaths, marriages, coronations and battles are just some of the many events being worked on in our development world (fantasy setting).
The concept is built around collaboration, where multiple world-builders can engage each other and work together to create stunningly detailed worlds filled with all kinds of characters and other objects based in any kind of setting from high fantasy to futuristic sci-fi to 1930s Chicago (mafia).
I'm looking for programmers to help develop the backend including more efficiently pulling data from the database to be used by the world-building engine, and developing the world-building engine itself to offer more dynamic options and abilities.
The next goal of this project is to turn the system into a profitable business by providing an internal publishing mechanism for authors to publish their novels via the website on distribution sites such as Amazon and iTunes with the website taking a commission on each sale.
The collaborative side of things is built into the publishing and sales system with a considerate wealth-sharing concept. Content created by members (as world-builders), used by authors in their novels will return the content-owner royalties from sales. Content creation can now be profitable without the need to write and publish one's own novels.
The final development step would be to allow individuals/companies to build their own worlds on our system (subdomains) paying a license to us for its usage. With the currently under-development world-generation system in place the world-building engine can comfortably generate and populate a world with any length of history ready to be moulded further by the license owner.
Discussion and negotiation welcome on this subject, you can visit the website at www.teriyeri.com to learn more about it.
