Programmer looking for a Programmer for a few jobs

  I am a beginner programmer, I do designs and layouts of website. I want to delve into the world of programming and application development so I want someone to partner with who is willing to spend the time to sharpen their skills by showing a new programmer the ropes (that approach helps). Let me know what you think. I'd be happy to donate my time to projects that you might have to help me get better. My main focus is C++, C, PHP and MySQL, Python. Any other will be considered but a focus will be on Linux development or cross-platform (not solely Windows).
