Orkestrate.it are looking for a Ruby on Rails developer able to join a small team as the third musketeer. This web application is an organisation tool specifically designed for the music industry, and even more specifically for band management. Although somewhat similar to other organisation tools like Basecamp, Orkestrate.it focuses more on the communication part of organising a band, and not so much on the task management.
We aim to be a technically magnificent machine wrapped in an awesome-looking user interface, and so we're looking for a Ruby on Rails superstar (or at least future superstar) who is able to take charge of the backend development and make all those fancy buttons actually work. We will be a team of three, and we'll split everything equally - the business structure is a free core functionality (discussion and calendar modules) but a paid pro plan with more features.
It's definitely a bonus if you're a musician, as the whole web app centers around making it easier to be in a band, but it's not completely necessary.
If this sounds interesting, let us know and we'll send some design mockups and more detailed information. We believe we have a unique web app startup on our hands that can take off and be really successful, and all we need is a great backend developer to get the project started.
Excellent knowledge of Ruby on Rails
Able to get involved fully with a startup
Willing to try and experiment with bleeding edge tech
Fun and easy to deal with
