Let me start by saying, I am a complete n00b with writing code, guys :(
I'm 19, a freshman at LSU, trying my hardest to teach myself the art but I'm way behind the curve! The best tend to get started as young teens but I won't focus on that, I discuss it in my bio.
Let's talk about CodenameBerri. CodenameBerri is the unofficial name for an (THE) iPad app that will reinvent the EDM (Electronic Dance Music) genre of music (yes, I'm the kind of entrepreneur who is in love with his vision even while it's still swimming around in his brain). This app will flip the process of producing EDM, Hip-Hop beats, etc. upside down and take it to unprecedented levels of ease and user-intuitiveness. The world of music production is surprisingly stale and obnoxiously difficult to grasp without a formal education (hertz, sound waves, audio levels. The data that these examples provide may as well be written in hieroglyphs. The common app-user does not understand them). You must strip away the technicalities and get down to the core of making music. Mix this complete redesign of music production with beautifully simple graphics (simply beautiful?) and a control interface that explains itself with perfect clarity and you've virtually got yourself a new genre, a new source of artwork, plucked fresh from the minds of any mixing enthusiast, no matter their background or education. New "fruit", hence, "Berri".
How could one possibly plan on reinventing something so entrenched as the music industry? Well, it depends on how you define 'one'. One man? Never. One team? Absolutely! We have complete and instant access to the resources needed to topple anything that stands in our way and in this new age of technology, programmers like yourselves are an invaluable tool to any entrepreneur looking to stir the pot. I'm looking to establish relationships with the best of the best by working together on projects like these. And, of course, I'm not stumbling into this blindly. I have dozens of layouts and mock-ups, sketched out on iPad templates, ready-to-read with footnotes and talking points as well as a deliberate set of steps that attack this idea with purpose.
I plan on starting a crowd funding campaign but I refuse to rush into it. I would need some sort of video, portraying the app in use, to successfully market my product. This is tough, since not one line of code is written, but still, I don't believe that's even necessary yet. The funding would go towards the best possible programmers that money can buy. I will not release a half-assed program onto the market! But please, let's meet via Skype or Facebook. I want to connect with you, regardless of what you think about my project. The real first step is filling your contacts list. Once you have the team assembled, anything is up for grabs.
