Programmer looking for a Designer for long-term partnership

  I am a developer and entrepreneur. I've begun a simple (one-person) project in Django. I have extensive experience (both in business and development) and am looking to build a simple web 2.0 application/platform for the education market.
  
  I am interested in someone who can work with me to take ideas to reality. I can pay hourly rates with ownership stake possible should anything take off.
  
  Ideal candidate would be able to take a few example websites and a written scenario (the site's user profile is this. the site functionality is thus. etc) and come up with a look and feel, including XHTML templates, icons and graphics. JavaScript library experience would be useful but not required.
  
  I am unfunded and would be paying out of my own pocket. I'm looking for an industrious individual -- even if that person is not yet advanced. I am NOT looking for a pro services company or a team.
  
  Interested candidates should contact me with example demos (with estimates of # of hours/days/weeks taken to build said demos) and pay rates in USD.
