As you probably read over at the blog: PMD is starting a contest to find a member of the community to create our job board. In addition to compensating the winner with cold, hard cash, we will feature him/her in an upcoming blog post and put a permanent link on PMD pointing back to his/her design page/portfolio/personal site.
Contest nuts and bolts:
The Job Board needs to be programmed in PHP using a MySQL database. It will use the same login/password system as our current site, so it needs to be integrated with our current database. It will have a simple single form to post any information necessary, in addition to an administrative section with basic functionality.
Be sure to include all of the regular goodies (i.e. Portfolio, Personal Site, Comments, Questions, Proposals, etc.).
Since we want to maintain continuity in design, the front-end will look/operate just like PMD, and much of the same core code can be re-used. Finally, all new postings will need to appear alongside our current postings, and as such, must be integrated into the Main Page (again using the same core code).
We're more than happy to work with contestants along the way. All questions, advice, and suggestions that are submitted in the comment section will be taken very seriously. Obviously, we'd love to develop a long-term relationship with whoever is awarded the project, but feel free to bid on a per-project basis as the listing describes.
Best of luck, and please be sure to contribute (comments, suggestions, ect...) so that we can continue to improve the ProgrammerMeetDesigner Community!
