  Description: Hello and thank you for viewing our project! We look forward to working with the winning bidder. The project we have in mind is a video auction/classifieds site and should be a combination of ebay and craigslist. Basically, you can sell anything you like on our site BUT you must upload a video clip with your listing. Video clips should not be more than 60 seconds in length. Basic setup features such as featured listings, most viewed, video ratings, tag clouds, payment types accepted and seller/buyer reviews, etc. The site should be built to contain search engine friendly urls with great use of heading tags (h1, h2, h3, h4, h5, h6) used appropriately throughout the site's content. We want a very clean, sleek Web 2.0 feel to it with ajax technology but expect the site to load very fast -- so you must have excellent graphic design/programming skills as well as be familiar with all latest web 2.0 functionality for that ultra slick feel.
  
  Some similar site examples would be http://www.cellit.us and http://realpeoplerealstuff.com. Although they are similar to what we are seeking, we do not like their sites in design, features and/or functionality. We really want our site to be the trend setter and we will also need you to design a fashionable hip logo. We love a web 2.0 look, but we do wish to stay away from the typical video "blocky sharped-edge" look and lean more towards smoother edges and brighter colors. We also definitely want a fix width site rather than variable width. Looks wise, we want our site to be a mix between fotki.com and pando.com. Use the colors and styles of Pando.com, as we believe it represents well with the soft gradients, smooth lines/edges, colorful icons and buttons. But as for a homepage layout, we like the homepage layout of fotki.com -- just not the colors. We like how they have everything organized without cluttering so many photos on the front page (like so many of the video sites do). We also like their tag clouds on the front page directly under their random photos, along with the searches and upload utility on the right side. It's a nice layout and not too noisy -- very clean. We have decided that we would like the font-family to be "Trebuchet MS, Arial, Sans-Serif" and the font-size to be 9pt. CSS style sheets should all be linked.
  
  The site should be modular in design and scaleable for growth. We also need to make sure that the script is properly prepared for load balancing when the time comes. Cron jobs to run deletion of ads automatically, etc. The site should be built using the LAMP platform and utilizing open source technologies where available with clearly commented codes. ABSOLUTELY NO ENCRYPTED CODES. We also expect that proper development documentation will be created and adequate testing will be done before installation, which you will provide as well along with any server configurations needed to make things run more smoothly.
  
  We are open to suggestions and highly welcome them, but our budget must remain intact. DO NOT BID IF YOU HAVE NOT DEVELOPED VIDEO SITES, AUCTION SITES OR CLASSIFIED AD SITES BEFORE. Programmers must be able to design the site to be compatible with all the latest browsers (IE 6.0 & above -- firefox 1.5 & above -- Opera 9.0 -- Safari 2.0 -- OmniWeb, Shira, Netscape) and it should be W3C compliant. The design should be a tableless CSS design as well. If you own your own scripts and want to customize them to fit this project then that is fine. But we will hold all the rights to the completed project. And the CSS and overall design has to meet our criteria.
  
  A Unique feature we would like to incorporate would be some sort of affiliate program for the sellers. This would allow sellers to decide if they would like to pay a commission (via paypal) to anyone willing to embed their video sales item within their web pages. If a sale is made, then it can be tracked via a cookie and the affiliate gets paid. This will be the sole responsibility of the seller, not us, and should be an option upon placing an ad. Unique affiliate codes could then be placed somewhere in the embed tags.
  
  Finally, this site must be VERY SECURE. Security is a must!!

  5. We can only work with someone who has completed similar projects of this scale and has several good references.
  
  6. The programmer must be dependable and prompt, and must speak fluent english. I demand constant updates and reports on progress of project; you need to be available on IMs, skype, email, phone and fax.
  You need to be responsible, easily accessible and you need to have a good track record.
  
  7. This job includes development, design, SEO, and installation.
  
  8. Please describe in full how you can meet our needs, previous works you have, etc. We are looking for the member with the best skills, communication, and willingness to work. Customization of an existing script for this job is acceptable but it must be discussed beforehand and it must be an excellent script, scalable, and have fast load times... nor should it be server intensive. Customization or cloning is acceptable but only if it is in compliance with regulations for the use of the code.
  
  12. Please respond ONLY if you have experience with building large-scale sites with scalability experience. Experience with Web 2.0 is must. Extensive experience in advanced data handling and databases is required. We must see fully functional online examples of similar work you have done to demonstrate your expertise in these areas and proof that you indeed are the creator of that work.
