Additional Info
I'm a firm believer in what a first-impression can do (positively and negatively) for a web based business or service. While the underlying service is important to acquire and keep the customer, you only get one chance to grab that hippety-hoppedy, web-surfing, mouse clicking, short-attention-span, what's-on-the-next-channel butterfly and make them look deeper to see what you have to offer. A clean, engaging, uncluttered but informative site is key to that.
Unfortunately, I have none of the skills necessary to design such a beast. :)
By day I live the life of a professional j2ee developer but by night I dream for bigger and better things. I have ideas a-plenty and the enterprise technology and development skills to build most of the infrastructure and architecture....but alas, I am woefully incapable in most aspects of art, design, style and anything related to the left side of my brain (although I do fancy myself as pretty good with advertising and slogans and such. Go figure).
I am looking for a fellow-dreamer and aspiring entrepreneur to work side-by-side with me to bring some of these ideas to reality so that we can eventually take our place amongst those who can say "I think I'm going to sleep late today....". Development experience would be helpful (rails, java, php) but artistic and web design skills are a MUST (must be a good-standing member of the Golden Order of CSS Masters and Bricklayers Association).
I am NOT looking for a designer-for-hire....I am looking for a partner (not that kind!) and kindred spirit who either embraces my ideas or has some of his own that we can build together into an empire of success and happiness.
Current idea is sorta Web 2.0-like and has a shaky underlying business model (advertiser driven of course). But it's neat, quasi-original and has potential (at least in my right-handed brain).
No need to be geographically located anywhere in particular. Email, IM, Skype, whatever will work just fine.
