Trust and Partners

I saw two street musicians today. It was an interesting combination: a violin and accordion. The two gentlemen were probably pretty good musicians, but they made very little money playing together.

Why? Because they didn't trust each other. I noticed that every couple of minutes, they'd stop playing to split whatever change they had accumulated, with one dividing the money and the other looking intently over his shoulder to make sure he wasn't being cheated.

And of course, every time they stopped playing, they stopped making money. So if you have a business parter you can't trust, let me suggest that you get rid of them and find someone else. An unhealthy partnership like the two gentlemen benefited no one; they could have done better on their own.
