Our company is in need of a qualified Ruby on Rails programmer to help finish out what we call the next generation "Mobile Geo-Location Gaming Systemâ€.
We have been programming for over a year, and are nearing our launch date, but need a little help to get over the hump!
You will be working closely with the president of the company, our business team, and lead programmer, to help finish out the project.
In addition to quality technical skills, we expect good ethics and pride of being a team player. Your sense of urgency, drive to implement the highest quality work, and your persistence to see assigned tasks to completion is required.
The Ruby on Rails Developer will be responsible for hands-on development of assigned software application tasks.
Responsibility Overview:
• Develop software applications and associated artifacts such as unit tests, installation programs and test automation code.
• Developing in Rails with the Ruby on Rails framework
• Code development, product enhancement, and maintenance to existing code
• Apply good technical practices such as continuous integration, test automation, source code control and review.
• Provide diagnostic support and bug fixing for software applications.
• Participate in Agile working practices such as regular scrum meetings, sprint planning meetings, reviews and retrospectives.
Job Qualifications /Critical Experiences:
• Strong Ruby programming skills and significant experience with Ruby on Rails
• Deep understanding of web UI technologies including JavaScript, JQuery, JSON, AJAX, HTML and CSS
• Solid SQL skills, preferable with Mysqli or PostgreSQL
• Background in using GitHub for project management
• Understanding of fundamental practices with social network APIs, experience preferred
• Experience with object oriented design and development
• Major or equivalent work experience in computer science
• Experience developing and/or maintaining a production application
• Experience working in a regulated environment preferred

Qualified candidates will be required to submit past work experience to establish their Ruby on Rails experience.
