Nicholas Jackson is a freelance graphic artist and illustrator interested in progressive technologies with a root in historical design.Working from the northern parts of Minnesota, Jackson has been pursuing a career in design for 4 years.
A gifted illustrator in traditional and new media, Nicholas brings his amazing imagination and creative gifts to the office every day. He never hesitates to take on a challenge, learn something new, or help someone out, and he is very appreciative of opportunities to learn from others and collaborate on projects.
Nicholas is a skilled artist, proficient in a variety of techniques including pencil and ink drawing, oil painting, typography, illustration, photography,and printmaking as well as digital illustration, digital painting, design, and layout. His style is rooted in art appreciation, art history, and his ability to reach beyond current trends to explore new possibilities.
While working with Paul Bunyan Telephone, Nicholas gained a wealth of information about various marketing devices including signage, brochures, web layouts, advertisements, and direct mail pieces. After graduation from Bemidji State University, Nicholas continued to produce design work in addition to commissioned paintings and illustrations. He has experience designing cards, posters, websites with fully integrated backend and content management services, illustrations for course banners, information graphics, and manuals.
Nicholas is a “people personâ€. He has a way of making people feel great about themselves, like there is no other person he’d rather be talking to. His positive, supportive, can-do attitude is infectious and invaluable to the team.
Nicholas feels the design process is a lovely experience, everything from nurturing the raw idea to putting the finishing touches on a page. He is passionate about his work and often he will be walking down the street and stop dead in his tracks, totally captivated by a design. Through the designs he creates, Nicholas wants to allow other people to share in the beauty that has inspired him and positively affect the viewers of his work.
Details that are commonly overlooked are often the basis for Nicholas’s creative projects. His personal motto is: “Stop. See. Enjoy.†Raw beauty is his inspiration. He believes that in most cases all it takes is for one to stop an observe their surroundings to witness the vast variety of splendor waiting around every corner.
