This profile is still a work in progress. I'm trying to bring over a bit of information from my CV, but without making the profile as boring. BTW, CVs are supposed to be boring, right?
Fields of expertise
Although I've worked with different technologies and languages over the years, in the last three years I have settled on Python and Django as my field of expertise. VB.NET and C# are still my bread and butter, mainly VB.NET, as I get paid for giving ongoing support to applications I have developed for various clients.
In the past I've written code (and I'm still proficient) in:
C
C++
Delphi
VB (the old, pre .NET era one)
Python
C# and VB.NET
Using the following platforms/frameworks/libraries:
Windows API, from small P/Invoke calls from .NET to full C applications
MFC, ATL, QT and WxWidgets (or 'WxWindows' as we used to call it back then when you could name things ending in 'Windows' and don't get sued out of existence)
The .NET framework
Django and Twisted Matrix for Python
POSIX compliant systems (I used Linux as my desktop, only booting into Windows when I need to support my .NET code)
Windows CE, both natively and using the .NET CF
Sure, I can't say I'm an expert on all those (after all who can keep the whole QT API in his head when he's working with Django?), but give me the problem to solve, some time to read the docs, and I'm ready to go.
