Everyone. Everything. Everywhere.
Dear Designer
Let me introduce myself. My name is Tom Tirapani and I'm a young and resourceful entrepreneur currently living in Sheffield, UK. I am looking for a collaborator to help me implement a large scale project over the next six months and beyond, a project that could yield massive returns.
I am planning and structuring what will become the cornerstone of next generation of social networking websites. Currently, the most successful leaders in this market (sites such as MySpace, Facebook and Friendster) are raising millions of dollars in revenue a year for what is, essentially, limited and generally poorly designed functionality. Kupodo.com will combine stunning design with a degree and range of functionality that is previously unheard of.
I have several years experience in programming and database management, but lack the artistic vision to make this plan complete. I need someone who can:
> Create a stunning, simple and inuitive interface that 'just works'
> Create and program flash-based 'widgets' that offer unrivalled functionality.
> Create and use CSS scripts to create exciting designs, but with a sense of uniformity.
> Contribute creatively to the ideas process.
As I have already said, I am adaptable and resourceful. I intend to do the following:
> Raise sources of finance to get it the enterprise up and running
> Code with Actionscript, PHP, Javascript, etc.
> Manage and co-ordinate the PHP and MySQL database interaction within HTML
> Effectively market and actively promote the project
> Handle the accounts and legal status of the enterprise
> Write the content for the sites pages and translate this text into various languages
In return for your help with the graphical front end I am offering a very share of future profits (term and percentage are both negotiable) or, alternatively, an equity stake (share of the business) can be agreed upon.
It doesn't matter if you live away from Sheffield or the UK, or even if you don't speak English well - all that matters is that you have good design taste, implementation skills to match and the ability to meet to deadlines.
This job will be a long and arduous one, lasting at least six months. However, with the recent sales of MySpace ($580,000,000) and the rumoured future sale of facebook to yahoo ($2,000,000,000), the financial returns we could receive as a reasonably successful competitor should make it worth your time and effort.
Please reply to my email if this offer interests you and we can sort out a deal with terms that benefit both parties. Be aware that I may ask to see your portfolio, or just some examples of your style, before accepting any offers. I look forward to hearing from you
