Programmer looking for a Designer for 1 job

  I would like to make a site that I can put on a resume since most of the work I do is on internal projects.
  
  The site is pretty much one listing page where you can rate, sort and filter items. Most actions will occur through Ajax. There is a possibility of adding a page to view individual items with comments and such at a later time that I would pay more for.
  
  I would like a "web 2.0" kind of clean interface, but not over the top with gradients. I will also need a logo and, I believe, a set of icons. I don't mind paying more for a great design.
  
  I am not expecting it to make any money so I am paying up front instead of offering equity.
