I'm the programmer/technical director for a web startup. We're developing a simple online "Web 2.0" accounting application for small businesses - clarityaccounting.com
Currently we're in the prototype/beta stage and we're looking for a designer with super clean visual style and some intuition in user interface design to take the user experience to the next level of polish, professionalism, and ease-of-use.
As well as polishing and improving the current interface's visual design, we want to "mock up" feature concepts before attempting to code them - basically deciding how our future features will look and feel before I start writing the code for them.
It's important that the mockups use layouts, colors, and fonts that will work reasonably well across browsers, so knowledge of cross-browser and cross-platform font and color issues is wanted.
I'll be taking care of the CSS/XHTML coding, for the most part, but if we find someone who can help with that, that's good too.
We want someone who is able to provide good (less than a week) turn-around time on revisions and professional quality work every time, ideally someone who works full-time as a freelance designer rather than just evenings and weekends.
This is a for-pay job, but it's not at a fixed price since the scope of work is fluid and on-going during the product's development.
